Course Summary

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “You have to feel it to heal it.” And when it comes to healing from anxiety and trauma, it couldn’t be more true. But let’s be honest—it’s also incredibly hard.
If you’re living with anxiety, overwhelm, or chronic pain, it might feel like you’re constantly carrying something heavy, but you’re not even sure what it is. That’s because beneath those symptoms often live unprocessed emotions—fear, sadness, anger, shame, grief, rejection—that your nervous system never had the chance to safely feel. 
It makes perfect sense that you’ve avoided them. Feeling those emotions can seem overwhelming, even terrifying. But the truth is, avoiding them keeps your nervous system stuck in survival mode—leading to the very anxiety, overwhelm and pain you long to be free from.
There is another way. In this powerful workshop, I’ll gently guide you through somatic practices that help your body feel safe enough to feel—so you can finally begin to process and release what’s been stuck inside. Together, we’ll move through a step-by-step, body-aware writing process that helps you access, explore, and hold your emotions with compassion—without being overwhelmed by them.
This is the same process I use with my private trauma recovery clients, and it’s a practice you’ll be able to return to anytime you need it.

Course Curriculum

Karen Penfold

Karen has personal experience with post-trauma stress, loss, and grief. Karen also has personal experiences with Healing and Hope. Through this journey, she discovered her passion to help others heal from trauma. She is a 10-year, two-time breast cancer and trauma survivor. Karen was introduced to yoga while recovering from breast cancer surgeries and treatments as well as a broken pelvis from a car accident. She credits much of her healing – in body, mind, and spirit – to the somatic, mindful, and spiritual practice of Christ-centered yoga.
